The Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia is sponsoring a student-led initiative to develop a free, universally accessible, educational resource for learning pediatric clinical skills. Developed by medical students and residents, with faculty oversight, our goal is to facilitate learning in Pediatrics.
Computer-based education has been shown to be effective at teaching medical interviewing, inspection and physical examination. In 2001 UBC Pediatrics started a computer-based resource for medical students. LearnPediatrics was originally envisioned as a CD-ROM, but was later modified to be web-based, thereby extending its use and accessibility. Through the evolution of the program, students at different levels in their medical training have contributed to this online resource.
Developed by students, for students, the accuracy of material contained within this site cannot be fully guaranteed. In all cases content is reviewed by pediatric residents, and where specified, also by staff within the various pediatric specialty areas. Should clarification be necessary, resources listed within each page can be referenced. The Learn Pediatrics team also welcomes feedback from you, so to improve and update our site.
